A static widget is a feature that allows you to decrease the load on the Talkable database and server provider thereby helping optimize the load time of Talkable on your site. It helps with high-traffic sites or during bursts of high seasonal traffic.
To enable the static widget:
When you have no gleam or widget rotation (more than one widget campaign), you can check the Static trigger widget checkbox in the campaign Rules:
Important: Requires integration 4.3.1 and later.
In other cases, please reach out to the Platform/Customer Success team.
Note: The Static trigger widget checkbox in campaign Rules cannot work without added integration.
When turned on, you’ll see a green lightning bolt denoted on your FW campaign:
There are a couple of things to keep in mind about the static widget:
The Advocate’s offer will be generated only after a customer clicks on the widget (not just after it loads on the page).
The click is counted as an impression (vs. at page-load). )
It needs to be turned it off if you want to A/B test the display of the Floating Widget trigger button
No dynamic variables, such as an Advocate’s name, can be used on a static widget.
The Floating Widget placement can only contain one live static widget campaign (no campaign rotation between multiple Floating Widget campaigns)).
No campaign join criteria allowed.
It does not work in combination with the Smart Signup feature for integration versions earlier than 4.6.2.
If you need to launch an A/B test on the trigger widget button, relaunch the campaign with an unchecked box in the Campaign Rules for the duration of the test. When finished, enable it back by activating the static widget campaign live.
